The Twinkie® Run is Back for 2026!What: 5k Run/Walk
When: Sunday, April 19, 2026 @ 9am Where: Gallup Park - Ann Arbor Enjoy some Twinkies® while raising much needed funds for ALS research! Run/walk will be limited to 250 participants. Register here! Additional details are below. |
Bob, our inspiration, was passionate about getting kids to be active. In his honor, participants 12 and under run free. Registration for those 12 and under requires the consent of a parent/guardian. We hope those adults will run too!

Details:
• Gallup Park Canoe Livery
• Custom finisher medals for EVERY PARTICIPANT!
• 7:45am – 8:59am race number pickup
• 9:00am RACE START
Note: Strollers are discouraged as the terrain at Gallup Park is not conducive to strollers. Please - No dogs or bikes as part of the race.
• Early Bird registration (by midnight, April 5): $25 for adults and kids 13 and over
• Regular registration (April 6-18): $35 (12 and under run free)
• RACE DAY registration – if not full! (April 19): $40
• OPTIONAL Pre-ordered T-shirts (through April 5): $20
T-shirts day of the run: $25 (we will have limited quantities on run day)
• AWARDS: Custom age group awards for adults and youth
HELP FUND RESEARCH! All net proceeds from the run will fund research aggressively seeking a cure or effective treatment for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Learn about research donations by Active Against ALS at www.ActiveAgainstALS.org
Liability Waiver: Running or walking in the Twinkie Run involves a number of risks of serious injury.
I have read and understand this statement and agree to assume all risk of personal injury or other physical or emotional ailment. I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release all rights and claims for damages I may have against the City of Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation, Active Against ALS and their officers and employees, race organizers, and all sponsors for injuries and ailments I may incur for participating in this event. Children 12 and under are advised to run or walk with an adult. I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, video recordings, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of this event.
